About Us
Who We Are
Georgia Sea Kayakers are an informal group of individuals who enjoy the sport of sea (flatwater) kayaking. The group is supported by the efforts of volunteers who enjoy paddling. There is no formal organization structure. Our mission is simple: Provide interesting and safe paddling adventures for our members. To support our mission, we aspire to have one of the best kayaking web sites available to any group. In the future, the group may find that a more formal structure (i.e. like a club) may have merit, but for now the focus is on getting out and paddling. Where We Paddle
While we are based in Georgia, we also pursue paddling opportunities in the states bordering Georgia. Our Places to Paddle section, Trip Report forum and Photo pages are organized by geographic area to make it easier for members to explore paddling adventures that are close to home or paddling adventures in unfamiliar places within an easy day's drive of home. Our Interests section also allows members to express preferences for paddling in specific areas.

Done Well by Others
Whitewater kayaking is a great sport. However, it is not our focus. We are the sea (flatwater) kayaking folks.

Your Support
Although we are an informal group, we are very much dependent on the support of our members.
- Please post any suggestions for improvements to the web site or group activities in the "Support" Discussion Forums.
- If you would like to lead a trip, just begin a thread under the "Show-n-Go Trips" Discussion Forum. Guidelines for leading trips can be found in the Safety section of the web site.
- If you would like to volunteer to support any group activity, select the appropriate area in the Interest section of your member profile. We will contact you or you can go to the Contact Us page to ensure we are aware of your interest.
- If you would like to talk to a real person (loosely defined), then please feel free to use the phone number on the Contact Us page. If we are out, please leave a message. We will try to return your call within 24 hours. If we are out on a multi-day paddle, it might take a little longer.
